Water flows downhill so the key is to figure out the lay of the land. As

Also remember that when contour lines intercept a stream, they point upstream.
Consequently, an inspection of the contour lines intercepting Timmins Brook shows
that they point towards the northeast. Therefore, the water is flowing in the
opposite direction towards the southwest (D).
