Lianas and buttress root trees (C) are found in a tropical rainforest.

Steppe and temperate grasslands (D) are found on the prairies.

Ferns and coniferous forest (B) are typical in British Columbia but at lower and mid-range elevations.

By 2000 meters in elevation the coniferous trees become shorter and less numerous and are replaced by lower lying vegetation such as mosses and lichens (A) due to the colder climate.
